Spillett House Large Activity Room (Video Conferencing Team Training Set Up)

Meeting rooms

At its central city premises at Spillett House, 65 Smith Street, Darwin, COTA NT has two meeting rooms prioritised for use by seniors, community groups and not-for-profit associations. 

Large meeting/ activities room

  • Seats up to 60 theatre style, 11 trestle tables, 60 lightweight chairs
  • Video conferencing
  • Air-conditioned, adjacent kitchen facilities (oven, microwave, fridge, crockery, utensils, urn) and access to toilets and accessibility toilet.

Small board room 

  • Up to 10 seated delegates.  1 large square table, cushioned seating
  • Video conferencing 
  • Air-conditioned, access to kitchen, toilets and accessibility toilet.

Equipment use

We have the following equipment and infrastructure available for use. Please stipulate your needs on on the booking request form. It is highly recommended that you familiarise yourself with any equipment you wish to use prior to your activity, especially if your activity is outside of staffed hours.

  • Internet access
  • Virtual conference facilities
    • Large Activity Room – Wall mount sound bar with beamforming microphone array + Stem Audio – HUB SAMSUNG Model UA65RU7100WXXY 65″ RU7100 4K UHD Smart LEC RESV
    • Board Room –  AMX Acendo Video Conference sound bar with camera LG commercial display panel 43″
  • Laptop (specification can be confirmed with staff)
  • Wall-mounted monitors (65″ in activities room and 43″ in board room)
  • Whiteboard 
  • Microphones (one hand-held and one roving) and speaker (activity room only)
  • Lectern (activity room only).

Costs

  • A $200 donation is requested for half-day use and $350 for full-day use of the large activity room, which includes costs of using electronic equipment.
  • A $100 donation is requested for half-day use and $175 for full-day use of the board room, which includes costs of using electronic equipment.

Current COTA NT Club and Associate Members qualify for a 10% reduction in costs. As a not-for-profit in an ageing building, the donations for using our rooms are used to maintain our premises and facilities.

Room bookings

Bookings can be made up to 4 weeks in advance and are subject to availability. Preferential, but not exclusive, access is given to seniors groups, not-for-profit organisations, associations and businesses whose core services and products are relevant to seniors.

Car parking

Limited free parking is available adjacent to the building (up to 4 spaces) outside of staff working hours (please see our location for proximity of other carparks).
