COTA NT is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1969 and the peak body for seniors in the Northern Territory advocating for their rights and wellbeing.

“We rely on our Members to support our advocacy, use our services and keep us informed about the current and emerging needs of senior Territorians. We firmly believe that together our voices are stronger, together we make change happen and together we advance a Territory that is equitable, respectful and inclusive.

Membership types

Individual / joint memberships

  • Individual Membership One year membership – $44 Join today
  • Joint Membership One year membership – $56  Join today

Our individual and joint Members are typically aged between 50 and 90 years old; working, in employment transition, or in early retirement; from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; healthy, active and independent or accessing assistance/support. Members are mostly socially and politically-engaged, active in the community and volunteering, facilitating workshops, organising groups and events. Members are located across the Northern Territory in Darwin, Central Australia, Coomalie, Berry Springs and Katherine.

BECOME A MEMBER

Club and Associate membership

We offer like-minded not-for-profit organisations Club and Associate membership.

  • One year membership starts from $30 per year. 
  • Club and Associate membership is limited to not-for-profit organisations (i.e. organisations that provide services to the community and do not operate to make a profit for its members (or shareholders, if applicable) and charities which support the well-being of seniors in the Northern Territory. Proof of not-for-profit status may be required on application (e.g. charity registration, recent financial statement or annual report).
  • COTA NT Club and Associate has a tiered membership fee, based on an organisation’s financial status.

APPLY FOR CLUB AND ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Corporate membership

Corporate membership is available for businesses, sole traders, government departments, universities or political groups who wish to demonstrate their commitment to supporting the advocacy of COTA NT and its national body, COTA Australia.

  • One year membership costs $350+gst.
  • 1, 2 or 3 year memberships are available.

Membership services

  • You can apply, renew and pay for memberships online here.
  • Our friendly Membership team in Darwin is always happy to help with any membership enquiries. Phone 08 8941 1004 during office hours, Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 3pm (excluding public holidays).
  • Alternative ways to pay and apply
    • If you prefer, you can make a direct payment from your bank account to COTA NT’s: BSB: 633-000, Account Number: 171-870-736. Use your SURNAME as reference.
    • Or download an application form here and post with a cheque made payable to COTA NT to Membership Services, COTA NT, PO Box 852, Darwin NT.

Additional information

  • COTA NT’s yearly membership is offered from 1 July to 30 June.
  • A joint membership can be purchased for any two people with the same postal address.
  • *For individual and joint Members only in serviced areas. A supplementary cost of $10 applies.
  • Your first membership card will normally arrive within two weeks along with your welcome letter.
  • Members abide by a code of conduct.
  • COTA NT reserves the right to change benefits of Membership without prior notice.
  • All Memberships applications are subject to approval and COTA NT reserve the right to refuse applications.
