Digital inclusion
COTA NT believes digital inclusion is a key driver in ensuring that older Territorians are not left behind in accessing vital information about essential services (health, education, finance, safety, government, support services).
- It also recognises that in the Northern Territory, people aged over 60+ are at particularly high risks of digital exclusion due to issues of access, affordability, digital ability, accessibility, trust and safety.
- We work to address these issues by:
- supporting targeted digital skills and confidence-building programs
- promoting digital literacy learning and online safety information through our events and activities, social media and publications.
- publishing accessible and inclusive material for people with low digital capability – Seniors Voice is published in print and digital editions to ensure those most at risk of digital exclusion in the Territory have free access to printed information.
- maintaining strong relationships with key organisations delivering information, workshops and events and support. These include: NBN, NT Libraries, NT Consumer Affairs and NT Government departments.
