NT Grandparents Day is part of a three-year project for COTA working with Territory Families, Housing and Communities (with support from the Department of Education). The aims of event program are:
The resources kit will be designed to assist all Territorians, in urban and remote locations, to plan, budget and promote an event that celebrates and recognises the diversity of grandparent relationships across age groups, cultural backgrounds, and geographical locations. It will be available on the ntgrandparentsday.org.au website – coming soon.
Many of the ideas for events and activities in the kit are suggested by Territory stakeholders engaging with us via NT Seniors Voice.
COTA NT will host its first NT Grandparents Day event with a program of activities for grandparents, seniors, carers and children to enjoy together including: dance and fitness fun, oversized games and toys, story time, parachute songs, clowning entertainment and face-painting.
