Insecure front door

Insecure front door

One member could not secure her home

Not being able to fully close and lock the front door meant that one member was feeling vulnerable at home.

The security door on this member’s house was not offering the security and protection it should, as the lock could not be engaged. The member contacted the Home Maintenance Service to see if they could help with a fix.

The door was inspected and it was found that it had dropped slightly, preventing the catch from engaging. The door catch was repositioned and the door then locked safely. It was also found that the rivets securing the door frame were damaged and not safe, so they were also replaced.

If your doors are sticking which often happens in our tropical climate, or the locks not working, contact the Home Maintenance Service.
