The Best Intergenerational Day in the NT is Back!
2 Oct 2025
Grandparents Day in the Northern Territory is being celebrated on Sunday 26 October 2025. It is the 5th year of the observance first initiated by COTA NT with the support of the Northern Territory Government. The day is intended to recognise and celebrate the role of grandparents and older members in Territory communities.
Those new to Grandparents Day can find a free event and marketing kit on the NT Grandparents Day website, as well as information and resources that support grandparents.
The website also includes an events calendar and event organisers are invited to submit details of their event online to help raise awareness of the celebrations and invite community members along to share them.
COTA NT is inviting grandparents and grand carers to bring along their children to a special screening of a homegrown movie, KANGAROO. It will be screened on the day itself in Darwin, Palmerston, Alice Springs and Katherine. Tickets are available through the COTA NT website only at a discounted price and include refreshments.
