We Fix Things for Seniors

28 Jan 2025

We Fix Things for Seniors is a special service by the Darwin Men’s Shed for COTA Members in February 2025.

The Darwin Men’s Shed is helping with household items in need of repair through its “We Fix Things for Seniors” service once again, thanks to a generous grant from the Darwin Airport Group.

Here’s How It Works

You bring your broken household items to Darwin Men’s Shed in Coconut Grove, and our skilled team will assess the item, and if possible, will repair them for you.

For your convenience, we are exploring an additional option this time. Many Seniors have expressed a need for us to visit their homes to fix things like:

  •   loose towel rails
  •   leaking taps
  •   sticky doors
  •   loose toilet seats
  •   hanging pictures and more!

n.b. They cannot undertake certified electrical and plumbing tasks that require qualified tradespeople to undertake.

Why Choose Us?

Last year’s program was a huge success, with glowing feedback from both Seniors and the men at the Shed. It’s a rewarding opportunity to connect, share skills, and make a difference in our community.

Let’s Make the Most of This Program

We’re looking to maximize the impact of this Fix-It initiative. If you’re a COTA member or know someone who could benefit from this service, we’d love to hear from you.
