“Write your Will, OK?”

7 Sep 2026

National Wills Week gets underway from 7 to 13 September 2026 and serves as a timely reminder to us all to get our Wills written or updated. National Wills Week is supported by the Northern Territory Government and the Public Guardian and Public Trustee.

The theme of this year’s Wills Week is, Life changes, so should your Will.

It aims to highlight the importance of reviewing a Will after a major life event (marriage, separation, buying a home, retiring, death of a loved one). If you do not leave a valid Will, after your death, your estate may be distributed according to law, which may not reflect your wishes, adding complexity and uncertainty for your family and loved ones at an already difficult time.

Territorians can find out more about National Wills Week, making or updating a Will and the services provided by the Public Guardian and Trustee at pgt.nt.gov.au/wills-and-estates or by calling 1800 810 979.
