COTA NT’s Seniors Expo 2017
“The Age Friendly & Active Ageing Year”
Date/Time: Friday 2 June, 10.00am – 2.00pm (FREE ENTRY)
Venue: Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Conacher Street, Darwin
Seniors Expo 2017 celebrated an age-friendly Territory and its seniors – their lifestyle, their commitment to the community and it champions active ageing Territory-style. The expo featured a free Greenfields Living morning tea served by the sea and a community pavilion hosted by the federal Department of Health. The Regis Aged Care showcase featured performances from choirs, dance and fitness groups and a fashion show. A major raffle to win SilkAir flights was available plus live music, a presentation on healthy and active living, a bowling green and smoothie bike.
Seniors Expo 2017 was opened by Our Patron, His Honour the Honourable John Hardy OAM, Administrator of the Northern Territory and attended by The Right Worshipful, The Lord Mayor of Darwin Katrina Fong Lim and the Hon Dale Wakefield MLA, Minister for Territory Families. Seniors Expo 2017 was attended by over 60 exhibitors and 1 000 patrons, and an army of COTA NT and Darwin High School volunteers.
