COTA NT’s Seniors Expo 2016

“The Petition Year”

Date/Time: Friday 3 June, 10.00am – 2.00pm (FREE ENTRY)
Venue:
Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Conacher Street, Darwin

Seniors Expo 2016 was the second of three Expos held in the beautiful oceanfront grounds of Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. The event included a TIO morning tea served by Darwin High School ambassadors to live music from Bill Roy, the COTA Musical Jam Group (who later became the Seniors Sunshine Band), Clarissimo, the Still Belting Out choir and Sing Australia. From a COTA NT perspective, this Expo is notable as it helped to raise awareness of our petition urging the NT Government to launch a review of the Seniors Concession Scheme.

Seniors Expo 2016 was opened by Our Patron, His Honour the Honourable John Hardy OAM, Administrator of the Northern Territory, Minister for Senior Territorians the Hon Peter Styles MLA and attended by The Right Worshipful, the Lord Mayor of Darwin Katrina Fong Lim and Ms Lauren Moss, MLA Shadow Minister for Senior Territorians. Seniors Expo 2016 was attended by 96 exhibitors, approximately 900 patrons, COTA NT and Darwin High School volunteers.
