More funds for aged Care
It was a good news day when the Federal Health Minister advised more funds would be made available for aged care – with $622 million being made available. COTA NT and our counterparts in other states have been lobbying long and hard that although the Royal Commission into Aged Care will highlight the needs and shortcomings of our aged care system, there is no need to wait for the results of the commission and that five urgent fixes were needed. Suffice to say that more funding was one of the urgent fixes, but still more funds are needed to ensure that the seniors who nurtured and care for us receive the same nurturing and caring.
Interested in a debate regarding the federal election?
COTA NT has not received a lot of feedback regarding interest for seniors in having a debate regarding the upcoming Federal election with the current sitting member for Solomon and the CLP candidate for Solomon. However, one of the reasons may have been that we did not include a number or email contact – so my apologies, and please email if you are interested in attending a debate regarding the federal election.
