Thanking our volunteers of every fashion
25 Apr 2017
At the moment, it is all go in our office for organising Seniors Expo 2017, and for those aspiring models out in the community – we need you.
Why not be a part of a fantastic day down at our expo on June 3 and showcase wonderful fashions provided by the Red Cross and meet new people? Don’t be shy, call COTA and make a date.
For all those hardworking volunteers out there, from May 10 to 12pm to 2pm at the Darwin Water Precinct, Volunteering NT and the NT Emergency Services are jointly providing a ‘thank you to volunteers Garden Party’ for all volunteers across the region. If you can’t make that one, there is also one at Casuarina on may 11, plus events in Alice Springs and Katherine.
For more information and dates visit . RSVPs are encouraged so hurry and make a booking.
COTA relies heavily on its volunteers, as do most not-for-profit organisations. And seniors are among the highest rate of volunteers, not only in the Territory, but Australia-wide. Not long now until the Territory Budget is released and we are all banking on some good news for our seniors, especially the ones who were disenfranchised by the previous government’s decision to scrap entitlements for the elderly in 2014. We would insist that all concessions be reinstated forthwith for all seniors over 60.
