Territory aged care, packages possible
28 Aug 2018
COTA NT attended the Chief Minister’s unveiling of the new master branding for the Territory and it is impressive. When you think of the colours of the Territory and the vibrancy of our culture and communities, the colour purple does typify our landscape. Albert Namatjira captured these colours beautifully. Uluru shows various shades of purple and our renowned sunsets also have this hue. The new master brand and the narrative will tell the story of the NT and assist to allay any myths about Territorians being backward and our services are supposedly not up to national standards.
The Masterbrand strategy comes with the tagline, “The Territory, Boundless Possible’ (designed to be deliberately jarring) and delivers a unifying message to sell the Territory as a place to live and do business. Well we say, as the NT News said – go North and Prosper and become a part of the story!
As part of population drive, the NT Government will also offer cash incentives for young women and other key workers to re-locate to the Territory. There is a shortage of these workers in the Territory and people wanting packages either on the NDIS or via My Aged Care are waiting to receive these packages. Delays are mainly due to the shortage of skilled workers in this area, so it is pleasing that the government has listened to (our) lobbying.
We are also now in the last week of Seniors Month and by all accounts it has been an amazing month with something for everyone. We hope that most of our seniors in the Territory enjoyed themselves and connected with new and old friends.
