Seniors urged to confirm details for Concession schemes

Approximately 48% of the total number of members (aged over 65) of the NT Concession Scheme have now confirmed their details and membership of the scheme with Territory Families. A significant number of seniors who are eligible still need to act, however, and confirm their details before 31 December 2018.
To confirm your details, you can go online to ntconcessions.nt.gov.au, visit a Territory Families shop front or call 1800 777 704 (free phone) for assistance.
It is important that you confirm your details, even if you were already on the scheme. This means you receive your new NT Concession scheme card and $500 for the NT Seniors Recognition Scheme (this payment can be used towards travel, electricity and/or water).
There will be more TV and radio advertising to remind people about confirming their details and reminder letters sent too. There will also be more information sessions in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Katherine – contact Territory Families on 1800 777 704 for more details.
Aged Care Forum – COTA Presenting on 5 Urgent Fixes for the Aged Care System
COTA NT is speaking at the upcoming Aged Care forum on 22nd November and will focus on the five urgent fixes needed for Australia’s aged care system and why they should be actioned now. (As mentioned previously, seniors who qualify for the Level 1 Home Maintenance Packages are waiting over a year as the funds have run out). This is a deplorable situation and we will be lobbying long and hard for an urgent release of funds.
Office Close and End of Year Members’ Function
