Future’s looking event-brite at COTA NT!

6 Mar 2018

Intrepid volunteers Ian Willis, Rob DeGuzman, Ann Richards, Sue Stewart and Ridhy Krishan will cross the Berrimah Line to bring COTA NT’s fourth SENIORS EXPO to Palmerston!

This morning Spillett House will be buzzing with conversation and music including the pick of our highly valuable, vintage vinyl. If you are in Darwin, drop in and meet some of the new volunteers transforming our head office into a very social information hub. It’s an ideal time to view the calendar of what’s on using the public computer with help on hand if you need it.

Harmony Day 2018

The online calendar also includes details of what is coming up at COTA including regular programs of exercise, music, games and computer training. We will be marking Harmony Day with a celebration of Japanese culture on Thursday 22nd March. Harmony Day aims to celebrate the country’s cultural diversity and is always popular a popular event at COTA. This year we will be learning about natto (traditional fermented food), finding out about kimono and yukata, enjoying music and folk dancing, tasting green tea and sharing a light sushi lunch. Places are limited and for the very first time this will be a ticketed event. Tickets need to be pre-purchased online using Eventbrite. (Help is on hand at Spillett House for those new to ordering tickets through Eventbrite).

Staying Safe in the Digital World Presentation

Before we break for Easter, we are running a free Australian Information Security Association (AISA) presentation to prevent you becoming a victim of cybercrime and being aware of the threats out there in the online world.

Seniors EXPO 2018 – Latest News

We thank the many organisations who have already registered for Seniors EXPO 2018 as stallholders, performers and sponsors and we thank you for the unanimous support of our decision to move to Palmerston. We are so excited to take our fourth EXPO to the Palmerston Recreation Centre. We can cancel that order for perfect weather, come rain, shine, heat or wind, the show can go on! Registrations close at the end of March.
