Calls for registrations for Seniors Expo
14 Feb 2017
COTA NT’s third SENIORS EXPO is all set to live up to its award-winning reputation once again with nearly 1,000 seniors expected to attend this year’s event. SENIORS EXPO 2017 will be held on Friday 2 June between 10am to 2pm at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory in Darwin’s Conacher Street.
COTA is now inviting SENIORS EXPO registrations from community groups, service providers, government agencies, businesses and other stakeholders. We are encouraging groups to not only showcase their activities but to provide seniors with an opportunity to have-a-go and join in. We encourage stallholders to provide plenty of information and time to talk, plus demonstrations, incentives, competitions and more – this will help make EXPO 2017 celebratory, age-friendly, unique and truly unmissable.
The event is once again free for all EXPO visitors to attend and we look forward to welcoming our Patron, His Honour the Honourable John Hardy OAM Administrator of the Northern Territory and Minister for Seniors, the Hon Dale Wakefield MLA to formally open proceedings. We can already confirm that EXPO this year includes a Greenfields Living morning tea overlooking the ocean – along with musical accompaniment – stalls aplenty, exercise and fitness showcases, a fashion parade, free yoga and nutritional workshops, community sausage sizzle and more – it’s already shaping up to be a wonderful day.
For individuals, groups or organisations wishing to register, application forms are available online at cotant.org.au, through email by phoning 8941 1004 or from Spillett House at 65 Smith St, Darwin (Mondays to Fridays between 9am – 3pm).
We will also be recruiting volunteers to assist our small number of staff on the day – if you’d like to be part of the volunteer crew, get in touch with us to register your interest. There are numerous roles and jobs to get stuck into.
Entries close 31 March.
