Rolling back the years: a trivia lunch to remember

Tickets for this Seniors Month event were eagerly snapped up by 40 members and 30 non-Members. The event Rolling Back the Years – Glory Days Trivia Lunch held on the 25 August celebrated the eras that helped shape most of the guests, with the exception of Quizmaster Dan Hilliard.

Six rounds of questions included the Fabulous Fifties, The Swinging Sixties, The Sexy Seventies, Slogan Showdown, Electric Eighties and the Noisy Nineties. It was the perfect occasion for guests to test their knowledge and learn more.

Brain teasers included:

• What was the name of the first Russian artificial satellite? (It ignited the space race in 1957)
• What movie starring Sam Neil was about Australia’s involvement in the moon landing?
• What Australian TV music show, launched in 1974, became a Saturday-night favorite?
• Which Australian yacht won the America’s Cup in 1983, ending the USA’s 132‑year winning streak?

Prizes were awarded for the best team name, prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams and lucky door prize.
