COTA NT’s work has been recognised in the 2025 Northern Territory Export and Business Awards for the Greater Darwin region. These awards are supported by the NT government and the NT Chamber of Commerce and recognise organisations and individuals who deliver outstanding services, drive economic growth and enrich our regions.

COTA NT won two awards for Outstanding Customer Service in Not for Profit and Excellence in Business – Best Community Event or Business Collaboration: Darwin Seniors Expo by COTA NT.

“It is very gratifying to know that the work we do to support older Territorians is recognised and appreciated by the wider community,” said Sue Shearer, Chief Executive Officer of COTA NT. “Together, our Board, staff and volunteers make up a very dedicated team and of the programs we deliver: advocacy for seniors’ rights and wellbeing, events and activities, NT Seniors Card, Aged Care Navigation, membership and volunteering and multicultural advocacy – it is every one that is delivered with passion, pride and professionalism.

“We know we make a difference to the lives of senior Territorians, but it is wonderful to receive these two awards which show that this difference is widely recognised within the community.

“Our Expo event in Darwin is growing in popularity every year, but we are always working towards engaging with seniors in other parts of the Territory and connecting them to the services and supports they need. We have held Expos in Katherine and Alice Springs earlier this year and next month, we bring Seniors Expo to the Darwin Rural area.”
