COTA NT to deliver its much-loved Expo for Territory Seniors
19 Jun 2026
More than 80 exhibitors, free health and wellbeing activities, live entertainment, expert advice and community connections will be part of Darwin Seniors Expo 2026 on Saturday 27 June at Territory Netball Stadium.
Presented by Council on the Ageing NT (COTA NT), sponsored by the Northern Territory Government, and supported by Netball NT and Territory FM 104.1, the free community event is expected to attract thousands of older Territorians and their families. It is one of the Northern Territory’s largest events focused on ageing, wellbeing and community participation.
From 10am to 2pm, the Expo will feature exhibitors across aged care, health services, legal support, volunteering, recreation, retirement living, government services, seniors’ discounts, advocacy and community groups.
COTA NT Chief Executive Officer Sue Shearer said the Expo gives older Territorians the chance to find services, connect with organisations and enjoy an engaging day out.
“Whether you’re looking for information on healthy ageing, aged care, volunteering, staying active, saving money or simply connecting with others, there is something for everyone at the Darwin Seniors Expo,” Ms Shearer said. “The Expo empowers older people with information, supports informed decision-making and showcases the wide range of services, activities and opportunities available across the Territory.”
Visitors will be able to speak directly with service providers and organisations, including government agencies, aged care providers, health professionals, community groups and advocacy organisations.
Highlights include:
- Heart Foundation community walk before the Expo opens
- Free entry and morning tea for all community members
- Live broadcast by sponsor Territory FM 104.1
- Live music from local performer Bill Roy
- Line dancing, table tennis and seated aerobics demonstrations, with opportunities to take part
- Best Dressed “Totally Troppo” competition with a selfie photo booth – prize is one night of accommodation courtesy of Crab Claw Island Retreat
- Giveaways, information resources and interactive displays
- Roaming MC Dan “The Radio Dan” Hilliard
- A chance to win a Mindil Beach Casino Resort voucher by completing the event feedback survey.
Attendees can access practical information on aged care navigation, dementia support, hearing health, consumer rights, seniors’ concessions, energy savings, advance care planning, personal safety, volunteering and healthy living.
Ms Shearer encouraged older Territorians, family members, carers and anyone interested in ageing well to attend.
“One of the Expo’s greatest strengths is the opportunity for face-to-face conversations. People can ask questions, gather information and make connections that may help them now or in the future.”
“Many people come looking for one piece of information and leave having discovered new activities, services and opportunities that enrich their lives.”
Darwin Seniors Expo 2026 is free to attend and open to the whole community.
