News round up and update from Katherine’s Seniors Citizens

2 Feb 2026

A most successful Seniors Christmas Luncheon was held in December at the Katherine Country Club where over 60 enjoyed fellowship with other seniors in the town. Staff were in attendance to help with serving a well presented meal. Our annual raffle was drawn with funds raised going to assist with the cost of the event along with a Community Grant from Katherine Town Council. Our thanks to all who contributed including local business houses.

We finished the year off with variety of activities including a Melbourne Cup luncheon with a hat fashions being judged, a trip to Mataranka followed by lunch. A luncheon at Nitmiluk Gorge earlier in the month.

During our break some members have met for social outings with morning tea and luncheon arranged, 3 members celebrated their birthdays in January so lunch with a cake was most enjoyable.

The group is in recess until February 4th, when meetings will resume at 10am at our Hall at 14 Bernhard Street. A program will be presented and discussed with variety of activities and outings being planned. Preparations for the annual COTA Expo also being organised.
