The NT Seniors Month 2026 Calendar has been launched by the Minister for Seniors the Hon Jinson Charls MLA and Sue Shearer, CEO of COTA NT. The calendar lists over 250 events and activities taking place across the Northern Territory throughout August.

Produced annually by COTA NT on behalf of the Northern Territory Government’s Department of People, Sport and Culture, the calendar is the Territory’s most comprehensive guide to NT Seniors Month activities, helping older Territorians discover opportunities to connect, learn, participate and celebrate in their local communities.

This year’s calendar features events across Darwin, Palmerston and Rural, Katherine and Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Mataranka, with activities ranging from arts and culture, health and wellbeing, social gatherings and community celebrations to lifelong learning and active ageing programs.

A total of 8,000 printed copies of the calendar is being distributed throughout the Territory, alongside an interactive digital version available online, ensuring seniors can easily access information about events in their region.

COTA NT Chief Executive Officer Sue Shearer said the calendar was an important resource for seniors planning their NT Seniors Month activities.

“Every year we see organisations across the Territory create wonderful opportunities for older Territorians to come together, learn new skills, celebrate Territory culture and build social connections.

“The calendar brings all of these opportunities together in one place, making it easy for seniors, families and carers to find activities that interest them.”

The NT Seniors Month 2026 Calendar will be available in print at libraries, community centres, government offices, participating organisations and other distribution points across the Territory.
