Events & Activities Officer

We are still on the lookout for our new Events & Activities Officer.

Is this you?

Do you love bringing people together? Are you the kind of person who can turn an idea into a packed room, a great conversation, or a community buzz?
We’re looking for an Events & Activities Officer to help us deliver engaging, inclusive events and activities for older people across the Northern Territory.

This role is all about connection. You’ll be at the heart of what we do—coordinating and delivering events that inform, empower and bring joy to senior Territorians.

 About the role

As Events & Activities Officer, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse calendar of events, activities and community engagement opportunities
  • Work closely with older people, volunteers, presenters and partners to ensure events are accessible, inclusive and welcoming
  • Manage event logistics including venues, suppliers, budgets, registrations and risk management
  • Support flagship events, expos, workshops and forums from concept to delivery
  • Promote events through digital channels, newsletters and community networks
  • Collect feedback and help improve future events

Some evening or weekend work may be required, balanced with flexibility.

About you

You’re organised, personable and calm under pressure. You enjoy variety and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves on event day.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience coordinating events, activities or community programs
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, respectful approach
  • Confidence working with older people and diverse communities
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • A genuine commitment to the values of the not-for-profit sector

Experience in community, seniors, health or advocacy settings is highly regarded—but not essential.

Why work with us?

  • Purpose-driven work that makes a real difference
  • A supportive, values-based team
  • Opportunities to be creative and shape meaningful experiences
  • Flexible working arrangements

If you’re passionate about community, connection and creating great experiences for older people, we’d love to hear from you.
