The Disability Equipment Program (DEP) aims to provide appropriate equipment, aids and appliances to eligible consumers, to enhance their safety and independence and to assist them to live and participate in their community. Clients must meet certain criteria and need to have an assessment by an appropriate professional.

The Prosthetic and Orthotic Department at Royal Darwin Hospital manufacture and fit a vast range of prosthetic and orthotic devices. It also provides services to the High Risk Foot Clinic at Royal Darwin Hospital as well as services to pediatrics patients via the Visiting Pediatric Rehabilitation Service.
