Friday 2nd February is World Wetlands Day. Whilst this year’s global celebrations have an urban wetland focus, you’re invited to join us out at Simpson’s Gap to meet with Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Ranger Mark and local ecologists to learn about the role of water and waterholes in arid central Australia. There’ll also be an interactive element of the evening as we catch, key out and identify invertebrates that can be used to monitor wetland health.
The event will also see the launch of the Outback Water Project, in partnership with @charlesdarwinuniversity and in collaboration with Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife and Visit Central Australia.
This is a public event starting at 5.30pm at the end of the Simpson’s Gap walking track, by the waterhole.
