The Stretch n Flex program has been designed by Sharon Kelly to help seniors with their flexibility, balance and physical confidence and competency. The program is designed to be progressive so improvements can be monitored.
Classes will incorporate myofascial release techniques to help with every day movements with a focus on improving flexibility and balance. To assist with increasing muscle range of movements. Props such as foam roller, bands and squishy balls are used to help participants release tight muscles. Benefits of the class will include; relief of muscle tension; increase range of movement; improved mobility and balance; and improved well-being and health.
In addition, the program aims to encourage older people to live healthier and active lifestyles by working on flexibility, balance and strength for everyday life. You will have to fill out a pre-exercise screening form prior to the class starting and participate at your own risk. We recommend seeking advice for your medical practitioner prior to starting new programs of exercise.
