Victims of Crime, Neighbourhood Watch NT & COTA NT in conjunction with Personal Protection Strategies are holding a personal safety workshop for those seniors in the Darwin Rural area.

Numbers are limited to 25. Light lunch will be provided.

In this workshop, you will learn practical strategies and information to support your safety in a range of situations. There are practical elements, which are suited for all fitness and mobility levels.

Please wear comfortable clothes to participate in the physical activities.

Areas we cover include:

• How to stay situationally aware in the community
• What are the types of abuse (it isn’t just physical)
• What are the different types of self-defence and resistance
• How to manage your own fear
• What can you do to make yourself a harder target
• What to do after an incident
• There is a physical self-defence component – this can be tailored to any level of mobility
