City of Darwin Libraries are offering free one-on-one and small group digital literacy sessions to Australian’s over the age of 50 under the BE CONNECTED national program. It doesn’t matter if you have never touched a mouse, keyboard or tablet before, or if you just want to brush up on your skills, a digital mentor will work with you to help you achieve your personal goal.

If you would like to set up an email or Facebook account, learn how to keep your account safe, find family and friends Libraries can help you to do that. Before you know it you will be posting messages and pictures and ‘checking-in’ (at the Library). There are modules on the Internet and e-safety. Some of the other topics include ‘Using a digital camera’, ‘Socialising online’, ‘Online shopping’ – this covers how to get started, payment methods, and consumer rights.
