Conversations with Senior Territorians – Bernard Tipiloura and Lesley Woolf

City of Darwin are honoured to be able to host Bernard and Lesley for Conversations with Senior Territorians with the support of Australia Day Council NT. Afternoon tea will be provided.

Bernard Tipiloura is 2023 NT Senior Australian of the Year Recipient. From the Tiwi Island’s Bernard is a suicide prevention campaigner and key contributor to the Stories from Community report detailing the fall in suicide rates in the Tiwi Islands and Yarrabah Queensland as a result of community led programs. Bernard donated a kidney at the age of 60, volunteered and worked at the Red Cross up to the age of 80 and is an avid anti-smoking campaigner.

Lesley Woolf is a 2023 NT Senior Australian of the Year Nominee, a nurse, health administrator and co-found of Run with Dad. Lesley has focussed on improving the health of indigenous peoples in Australia and Papua New Guinea over three decades
