Association of Independent Retirees Meeting including Presentation from Minister for Seniors

February 13, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Following the successful pre-election debate between Ministers Moss and Styles last August, where we had over 80 attendees and a robust Q&A session, it is time to see what the new Labor administration is going to do for the Seniors of the Territory, specifically:

  • Fulfilling on promises made during the election last August
  • Cost of living pressures for senior Territorians resulting in a greater number leaving the NT
  • Changes to the NT Pensioners and Carers Concession Scheme
  • Health care for an ageing population
  • The availability of housing options for Seniors, from independent living to public housing, as well as dementia care and nursing homes

Labor has been in office for 6 months and Seniors want to understand and critique the governments agenda over the next three and a half years.  The presentation will be followed by a Question & Answer session with the Minister, to address specific issues you may have relating to Seniors.

Please join us and show your support for Seniors issues in the NT.  Pass this on to as many “over 50’s” as you can (friends and family), as guests are most welcome.

Light refreshments will be served at the interval

In the second half of the evening, there will be a brief presentation by the Darwin Bridge Club on the benefits and social nature of the game, with beginner lessons to start soon.
