AIR Darwin Notice of Meeting

February 12, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

$5

“With the adoption of the internet into our everyday lives there are increasing opportunities for scammers and online criminals. Australia is one of the world leaders in adoption of technology and with our relatively high standard of living we are an attractive target for international online criminals. Online crimes include activities such as payment scams (eg Ebay or Gumtree), Business Email scams or Romance Scams and can often result in significant financial loss, while activities such as Cyberbullying can lead to the most tragic consequences. Prevention is by far the preferred option for responding to Internet based crimes, and the best way to achieve this is through awareness”.

This presentation promises to be a most interesting review of the latest information available for us all to address the insidious intrusion of Internet Crime into our every-day lives – come along and hear what the experts from NT Police have to tell us about most this important topic.
