Email
Use email marketing / networks
Email seniors clubs and associations (details here). Many of these publish their own newsletters and may include details of your event.
Email people in your address book who may be interested in the event.
Facebook / Social Media
Make use of social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
Use Facebook to…
Create a Facebook event and tag co-hosts to put the event on their pages.
Create a Facebook post and tag local media outlets and journalists (radio and newspaper). Note: Do not tag so many 3rd party Pages that your post becomes ‘spammy’.
Join like-minded Facebook groups and post your event details on their Pages.
Consider paid Facebook advertising or boosting a post (you can set your own budget, big or small)
Posters / Flyers
Create and distribute print and online flyers and posters – you can see COTA NT’s major distribution points for print promotion here.
Make sure you have included all required logos and have proofread carefully.
Ensure you’ve included local seniors’ centres, residential homes, aged care service providers, electoral offices, libraries, community centres, local shops and cafes.
Send your flyer to your email networks.
Community Noticeboards and Calendars
Use Community noticeboards (radio, web, print, online)
for event registration in the printed and online Seniors Month Calendar (for seniors’ events held in August). Listings due in May for print calendar.

Social media co-hosting, tagging, email marketing, free ad in Seniors Voice (up to 100 words), complimentary exhibition space at Expos

COTA NT is a not-for-profit organisation and has limited resources. Whilst we make every effort to support the work of other organisations in the Territory, we focus our marketing efforts particularly on our own events, those of our supporters and those of very high relevance to our demographic.
