COTA NT works hard to protect the rights of all senior Territorians and lobbies government and its agencies to address affecting seniors in the Northern Territory. Framing the Future is the Northern Territory Government’s policy document which sets the vision for a strong society and confident Territory culture. This Framework provides objectives and strategies aligned to the ten Priority Areas for Action identified in the Seniors Participation Framework.
The Seniors Participation Framework 2016 – 2019 identifies strategies against ten key priority areas for action including: community, diversity, children and families, housing, economic security, education, health, community safety, lifestyle and transport.
The framework also commits to an action plan and monitoring and reporting of progress over the next three years. This Framework commits Northern Territory Government to adopting an age-friendly approach in development of policy and initiatives where applicable.
