You will find COTA NT’s offices and meeting rooms at Spillett House on Smith Street in Darwin’s CBD. We are located next to the Bendigo Bank and opposite Elders Real Estate (a short distance from the Woolworths’ shopping precinct).

Our offices and meeting room are located directly behind the bus stops, two small lawns and sheltered benches on Smith Street. We are clearly identified by our bright orange front door and branded entrance way.

By Car

Having reached Darwin CBD, you can reach Spillett House by car either from Smith Street or Shadforth Lane. You can access the building by walking through the staff carpark (Shadforth Lane side) or by walking through Ponciana Park (Smith Street side).

Parking

The small car park adjacent to our building accessible from Shadforth Lane is for staff and volunteer usage. Public parking is available at the Woolworths’ shopping precinct across the road and on the surrounding streets and local council parking charges apply.

Parking using a disability permit

Permits must be displayed inside the windscreen whenever the permit holder is using the vehicle.

On-street parking in Darwin

If you are using a disability parking permit within the Darwin municipality, your permit allows free on-street parking (where parking meters are installed) in any time-restricted area for twice the period indicated e.g. 3 hours extended to 6 hours. Once the free parking time has expired, normal parking restrictions apply i.e. paying for parking and time restrictions.

Off-street car parks

Vehicles displaying disability parking permits may park in an accessible parking bay in all City of Darwin off-street car parks all day, free of charge except for West Lane Carpark and Chinatown Carpark. Persons displaying a valid permit who park in an accessible parking bay in either West Lane Carpark or Chinatown Carpark may park for twice the time paid for. For more information, visit the City of Darwin website.

By bus

The following buses stop at Spillett House (stop is called, “Woolworths Smith Street”) Bus – 21, Bus – 5, Bus – OL2 (see Moovit: Your Public Transit Guide for more information)
Bus – 8 stops at the Darwin Bus Interchange, which is located at: 1 Harry Chan Ave (approximately 7-10 minutes’ walk from Spillett House on 65 Smith Street).

By taxi

There is a taxi rank located almost directly opposite our offices on Smith Street, outside the Woolworths’ shopping precinct.
