Steve Thomas

Steve is a retired business manager and qualified mechanical engineer who first visited Darwin in 1977.

Steve lived and worked all around Australia including Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Townsville and New Zealand. Steve has also managed NT Businesses in Darwin, Katherine and Kununurra over the past two decades.

Since his first visit to Darwin in 1977, Steve suffered the “NT Boomerang Effect” ( once bitten by the lifestyle nothing else comes close). Steve and wife Kerry returned to Darwin in 2007 and within a month bought a property in Virginia.  Steve says people are great up here – so open, genuine and welcoming and just wishes they could have stayed 40 years ago.

Steve has been involved with COTA for several years and instigated the popular Home Maintenance Service for Members. This program also known as the Tradies Program is managed by Steve and other suitably qualified Personnel. The service works with qualified trades people in electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, horticulture etc and all are long standing businesses with impeccable reputations. This means that members can be confident in their quality and service and that the work completed will be true ‘value for money.’
