Old Timers Traeger Museum

Old Timers Traeger Museum was founded in 1966 by John Blakeman, then Manager of the Old Timers Village.

It encompasses a collection of objects and records covering the history of settlement of Central Australia: this includes Aboriginal artefacts, Pioneer history, Mining, Droving, Cameleers, John Flynn and his colleagues and their contribution to medical care and welfare in the outback, including the development of the Traeger Pedal Radio, as well as a collection of historic photos of Alice Springs.

Staffed by volunteers the museum opens from 2 till 4 on 7 days a week during the tourist season. This year from April 26th until late October 2023.
