Careflight

For 35 years, CareFlight’s mission has been to save lives, speed recovery and to serve the community by providing the highest standard of rapid response critical care. Our vision is to be Australia’s most trusted rapid response critical care service.

CareFlight is an areomedical charity formed in May 1986 by a group of rescue volunteers with a shared vision – to create a better medical retrieval service in Australia. Nationally, our teams use helicopters, aeroplanes, jets and road ambulances to bring an emergency hospital level of care to patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and our critical care doctors and nurses are experts in pre-hospital and transport medicine.

CareFlight cares for severely injured people who need emergency treatment at the scene of an accident and looks after seriously ill people who need to be moved between hospitals. Our teams treat and transport around 8,500 critically ill and injured patients every year across Australia.
